The Portland-centric duo of Kira Clark and Keith McGraw comprise the dark, Gothic Doom band, Muscle & Marrow. 2014 saw the release of their album, The Human Cry, a haunting and brooding brilliance that was well-received by the masses. Clark handles vocals and guitars while McGraw plays the drum. Together, the duo creates wonderfully textured music that evokes senses of sorrow or melancholia.
On May 27, Muscle & Marrow will be returning with a new studio album entitled Love to follow up their hypnotic 2014 effort. Love will be released by The Flenser, a San-Francisco-based label specializing in dark music. Joining the announcement of Love came the first song to be heard from the album, “My Fear”. The track was premiered on Paste this past Friday. It is a four-minute emotive and stirring track that is deeply entrancing and is highlighted by Clark’s ethereal vocals and gasps and McGraw’s pounding rhythm. The album artwork for Love is the featured image for this post and the audio for “My Fear” are featured below.
