A/V: Cult Leader’s Debut Album, ‘Lightless Walk’, is a Sludgy Monster

If you’ve ever wondered what the musical equivalent of being crushed by a steamroller for 40 minutes while enjoying every second of it sounded like, Cult Leader’s Lightless Walk would give you the answer you were looking for.

Lightless Walk marks a triumphant return for the members of Cult Leader. Anthony Lucero (vocals), Mike Mason (guitar), and Casey Hansen (drums) decided to scrap Gaza and start over in their current form. They added Sam Richards to play bass and released two EPs called Nothing For Us Here and Useless Animal after being signed to Deathwish, Inc. by founder Jacob Bannon (of Converge). The two EPs were well received by critics and fans alike and set Cult Leader up for their first full-length album which is set for release this Friday.

You can check out the album below if you haven’t had the chance to hear it yet. It’s a fantastic display of sludge-infused hardcore.
