Though the album does not officially come out until this Friday the 18th, you can now stream The Black Dahlia Murder’s newest album, Abysmal, over at the Metal Blade website for the band in its entirety.
Abysmal is their seventh studio album and marks the next step in The Black Dahlia Murder’s constant evolution into a powerhouse in American death metal. Production for the album was handled by Mark Lewis, who has handled the production on a number of their albums, and Ryan Williams, their former bass player who also helped with Everblack as well.
As with every Black Dahlia Murder album, you know you’re getting an absolutely face-pummeling experience. The Michigan quintet manage to fit their madness into a 37-minute roller coaster through Hell. I was not disappointed in the slightest with the new album. On the contrary, I am fully hooked on it after the first time listening through it. “Vlad, Son of the Dragon”, “Asylum”, and “Threat Level No. 3” are my selections for standout tracks for this album.
