Best of June

June had a plethora of releases across numerous genres. I managed to pick my three favorites from this month and listed them in alphabetical order.

High on Fire – Luminiferous

See the review for Luminiferous I wrote. You won’t regret it, High on Fire never disappoints.

Jamie xx – In Colour

Jamie xx - In Colour

Smith’s minimalistic approach to In Colour brings a fresh, clean feel to club music. Every aspect of the album is executed with masterful brilliance. Every sample, feature, and synth beat hits perfectly; culminating in one of the best albums of 2015.

Vattnet Viskar – Settler

Vattnet Viskar - Settler

Again, visit my review for Settler. It’s the best black metal album in 2015 thus far and exemplifies the growth of one of the most promising bands in the USBM genre.

Honorable Mentions:

Florence + the Machine – How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful
Hudson Mohawke – Lantern
Mutoid Man – Bleeder
Vanum – Realm of Sacrifice
Vince Staples – Summertime ’06
