A/V: Vanum – “Convergence”

2015 has been a strong year for black metal so far. Numerous notable bands have released excellent albums but yet it appears the best music is still to come.

Enter, Vanum. The super-duo contains stalwarts within the realm of black metal. K. Morgan of Ash Borer and M. Rekevics of Fell Voices, Vorde, and Vilkacis team up to produce what could arguably be some of their best music they have ever created. Their songs are raw, atmospheric, and enthralling as the songs released thus far clock in at well over 10 minutes long and inherently draw the listener in to the dark ambience they produce.

Their debut album, Realm of Sacrifice, immediately became a highly anticipated album when the first track, “Realm of Ascension”, was released a few months back. Today, the duo has released a second track, called “Convergence”. The 12 minutes and 30 seconds track warrants patience as it builds and ultimately rewards the listener with a wave of crushing and expansive black metal. Realm of Sacrifice comes out on June 23rd.
